2002 - “BACK HOME”

This was I trip I took back to my roots of Sterling, Colorado in February 2002. The first time I’d been back home since my great-grandfather died several years earlier, and perhaps even more importantly, the first time I’d seen the place through the eyes of an adult.

I took this trip with the person I was seeing at the time, and the day, supposed to be a pleasant one, turned out to be anything but.  By the time we returned home, the feelings the experience created only strengthened my want to never go back there again.  And so far, it’s still working.
